Halloween was a blast, but I am pretty happy it is over. I think my kids dressed up atleast 3 or 4 different times. What a pain! But it was worth it. I was so focused on Haley and Gracie, that right before our church Halloween carnival, I realized I didn't have a costume for Isaac, so I bought a can of blue hair paint and made him into a "trouble maker" (Haley kept calling him a "stealer"). It turned out pretty cute. Now we have tons of candy that I cannot keep my hands off of! It's only the beginning of my 3 month sweet tooth binge since Thanksgiving and Christmas are almost here. That's all I do this time of year is eat..eat..eat!

Well, I have been quite the slacker when it comes to blogging as you can all see. Summer has been busy and we had lots of fun. We went to cousin's camp in Eden (up Ogden Canyon by Wolfe Creek) where there were a million kids and a few mom's that were brave enough to take on the adventure. It was so much fun and so worth it. Hopefully our husbands enjoyed the few days of relaxing and peace and quiet while we were gone. Ryan's two brothers Marcus and Eric came home in August from their missions in Mexico and we have been busy visiting them and catching up. I got to go on a girls trip to Park City with my sister-in-laws where we had such a great time eating good food, shopping like crazy (it's amazing, you can go to more than 2 stores without feeling like you got hit by a train), sitting in the hot tub and sleeping in even though I couldn't sleep past 8:30 since I'm so use to getting up earlier. It had been such a long time since I got to do something like that, since Isaac was HOB for over a year (as Lynds call it: hooked on boob). I love summer; the barbeques, parades, swimming, softball, camping, soaking up the sun at Bear Lake, and being able to keep my house clean for a few hours while the kids play outside... I fell like our summer was cut short and now we get to take on another freezing cold winter. Don't get me wrong, I love this time of year! There are so many exciting things to look forward to, but come January I am ready for Spring again! Let's hope this nice fall weather sticks around for a while so we can enjoy it.

It's true. Boys are so much busier than girls! I have to admit, I have been blessed with sweet girls that are pretty easy to please and for the record, Haley has NEVER had a real temper tantrum and she is almost six! Gracie has had a few, but they are very short and she hasn't had one in public...yet. Isaac is such a good baby. He is very happy and ALWAYS exploring everything that's forbidden. He loves the toilet, unrolling the toilet paper, helping me with the dishes, outlets and pulling everything out of my pantry (just to name a few). When he's not busy getting into everything he loves to snuggle and give me wet kisses. He is such an affectionate and social little guy. He plugged the night light in the outlet himself. (I walked out of the room for like 1 minute and when I came back in the fan was knocked over and he had the night light plugged in!)

I just finished my third fondant cake! I did this one for a baby shower that is tonight for 3 of my friends in my ward. I am pretty disappointed in my new camera because it takes grainy and dull pictures. The colors on the cake are a little brighter than they appear in the pictures. I really enjoy making these cakes, but it is pretty time consuming!

Hogle Zoo

A couple of weekends ago me and my sister Ashley went down to Salt Lake to visit our mom. One of the reasons we went was to take the kids to Hogle Zoo. Afterwards we took them to the Mayan to eat and watch the divers. They loved it.

Sunday night Ryan was out at his dad's property (checking a trap he left there from turkey hunting) and found some wild asparagus growing in the field. He took out his new razor knife to test it out, and as he was slashing the asparagus from the ground he sliced his hand open. I got a phone call from him and he told me he was coming home to see if I thought he needed stitches. I knew if he thought he "might" need stitches, then he definetly needed them. When he got home, he was bleeding like crazy and he washed it out to show me. It was disgusting! It was about 1/4 inch deep and when he opened it, I saw 3 different layers of tissue and some fat! EWW. He left to get stitches and the doctor said he needed 15. But I think he ended up with 10 big ones instead.

Isaac's 1st Birthday

Some of my family came over tonight to celebrate Isaac's first birthday. His birthday isn't until Sunday, but we celebrated early. I made a fondant cake (for the first time) thanks to my sister-in-law for showing me how. I think it turned out pretty cute! Ashley, Tyson and my mom came to celebrate with us. Surprisingly, Isaac didn't really care for the cake (he only ate 2 bites!) but he LOVED the glass of whole milk that daddy gave him.

My sister-in-law Lyndsey showed me how to make hair clips using felt. I've made hair clips before, but I used regular scrapbooking flowers. I think the felt one's hold up a little better (they don't bend or smash) and you can made A TON of clips for so cheap! Thanks for the great idea Lynds! Here are some I have made so far....

I went to a J.J. Cole's warehouse sale today with my sister and some of my friends and couldn't pass up getting this crib set, since I don't have one yet (Isaac has had pink butterflies on his crib)! I got it for $60.00 (there was no tax). I don't know if Ryan will be to happy about me spending the money since we don't have a lot right now. What do you think, was it worth it?

It's not very often that we get to play with the cousins, but we did take a trip down to Ryan's parents on our Anniversary weekend (after Lava) and then my sister-in-law and her girls came and stayed overnight with us. Gracie and Lucy are quite the trouble makers when they are together!

Finally after a couple months of slacking I have decided to get back to blogging. I have a lot to update on, so hopefully I can catch up! Ryan and I had our anniversary in March, and we took our kids to Lava Hot Springs overnight. The weather was really cold, so it was nice to soak in some hot springs! The kids loved it. Since it was our anniversary, we did get to go out alone to a Japenese restaurant after we got back from Lava.

I still don't have a camera, but here's what we've been up to. Isaac started crawling 2 days ago, hooray! Gracie just got a cold. Haley is obsessed with spinach (she checks to see how big her muscles are growing). Gracie made out with a boy at church in the hall last week (just as I came around the corner to get her, I noticed a little boy had his arms wrapped around her, and they kissed on the lips about 4 times before anyone could stop them. lol) I guess those are the highlights. Hopefully we get our camera soon so I can post new pics!

Haley and Gracie went over to my neighbor's house (Cherie's) yesterday to play. When I went over to get them Cherie told me how Haley and Andre (he is 6) locked themselves in the bedroom for a minute until she realized that they were in there and made them come out. When we got home I asked Haley what had happened. Our conversation went like this:

"Haley, when you and Andre were in the bedroom what did you do?"
"We just got married."
"What did you do when you got married?"
"We danced and had a feast."
"Did anything else happen at your wedding?"
"I don't want to tell you."
"Did you kiss?"
"Andre told me not to tell"
"Where did he kiss you?"
"On the mouth, but he told me not to tell his mom."

We had to have a little discusion after that about why it's not okay to ever shut the door when playing with other kids and why it's definetly not okay to kiss them. I don't even want to think about the days ahead of us in the future. Look out Gavin, Andre's trying to steal your girlfriend!

Baby Krew

My sister Ashley and her husband Tyson had their first baby boy last Wednesday. He was 7 lbs 1 0z. and 20 inches long. He has lots of dark shaggy hair. He is so beautiful. He had to be transported by life flight to Primary Children's Hospital for complications. His esophagus was not connected, because the lower portion of it was connected to his trachea, and not the upper portion of his esophagus. We all found out when she first tried to feed him, but the food had nowhere to go. He had surgery on Friday afternoon to connect it. He is doing well, only a few minor complications after surgery, but I would really appreciate if everyone would pray for him.

The weather has been so beautiful lately, so Ryan and I decided to take the kids out and enjoy one more day at the park before it snows! They made friends with two other little girls that were there and Haley and Ryan were playing on the soccer field most of the time we were there pretending to be bears that lived in a cave. Grandma Lucy taught her that one!!

Disneyland

We made it home from our trip Thursday night. We had the funnest time ever!! The weather was absolutely perfect (about 75 degrees). The kids loved the airplane, and Isaac was so good on it too. We spent three of the days at Dineyland and California Adventure. We also took them to the Princess dinner so we wouldn't have to stand in line to meet them all. We took them on all the little cute rides and Haley really wanted to try out a rollercoaster, so we took her on the one in toon town. She loved it so much, she only wanted to ride on the rollercoasters from then on. Luckily, the height requirement is 40" and she is exactly 40". Her favorites were Soaring over California, Matterhorn, Star Wars, and Splash Mountain. We tried to take her on Space Mountain, but it was too late and we decided to bag it. Gracie was a little nervous on all the rides, but loved them so much. Especially the Carousel! She also loved Buzzlight Year. We spent a day at Sea World, but they closed at 5 p.m. so we weren't able to see everything there. They still really enjoyed it though. The last day we were there, we went to Newport beach. I wish we could have spent the whole day there, but we had to get to the airport. Isaac was great and spent most of the time sleeping in the stroller. He even slept through the night twice there!! He hasn't since though. A few people told us to wait until the kids were older to go, but I would do it all over again in a heart beat. So whoever wants to plan a trip for next year let me know!! Maybe I could talk Ryan into letting us go again.

Well, today has been a very long day. I always wait until the last minute to get all the little things done and it ends up taking all day since there are a lot of little things to do!! We have to leave our house at 6:15 a.m. so I put the kids to bed early. They decided that they were too excited to go to bed, so they didn't actually fall asleep until 7:30. They're going to be pretty tired tomorrow! Anyway, I don't know what I'm doing on the computer, I need to get my butt in bed. I'm getting a cold, so hopefully my ear drums don't explode on the airplane from all they pressure! I'm not excited about that part, but we are very excited to finally take a family vacation for the first time with our kids!

Yes we still have our puppies! We have 7 puppies left out of the 12. We finally posted them in the newspaper so hopefully that will help us sell the rest. We are going to Disneyland Saturday so hopefully the majority will be sold by then! They are getting bigger and more agressive. Mostly playful agressive, but for some reason one of the male puppies keeps getting beat up by the rest of them. It started happening about 3 days ago and luckily we were here each time it has happened. If not, they probably would have killed him. We figured out that they were targeting the same puppy, so we are able to keep them separated and he hasn't been harmed since. It's so sad because he loves playing with them but they don't like him for some reason. Last night I was petting him and noticed that the end of his tail was missing. Luckily it is just the tip. I don't think anyone is going to want to buy him now. It looks like we might end up having 2 dogs at the end of all this! Hopefully someone will still want him, so we'll see. I've kind of grown attached to him and he's grown attached to me since I have been taking care of him.

Haley's 5th birthday....

Haley just turned 5 last week. I can't believe I have a 5 year old! She ended up having a 4 day birthday this year. Thursday they celebrated it at school and on Friday we went to the Fun Park with all of the neighbor boys. She has several close friends and they all happen to be boys! No wonder she is such a tomboy these days. On Saturday (her actual birthday) she had a pajama party (although they didn't sleep over) with all of her girl friends from church and school. They made beaded bracelets, made their own little pizzas, had a pinata, and watched a movie, which nobody watched of course since there were too many presents to play with. She got so many barbies! She's not used to girly presents since she always wants cars, spiderman things, a skate board, and many other boy toys. Sunday evening we went to my dad's and had dinner, opened presents and had cupcakes and icecream. Haley is the sweetest little thing. She is so loving and such a great helper. She is soooo smart and always happy. I am so blessed and thankful to have her. I love you Haley!!

Grandma Grace Sept. 21, 1922-Oct. 16, 2008

My grandma Grace wasn't doing well for the past four or five years. She had alzheimers and battled pnemonia quite a few times. We recieved many phone calls from doctors and nurses saying she probably wasn't going to make it, but she always pulled through.

My sisters and I were enjoying a girls night out on Thurs. when we recieved a call from my mom saying we should stop by the rest-home to see my grandma because she really wasn't doing well this time. We stopped by to see her around 8 p.m. and about 8:15 she passed away right before us. Although it is sad to see her go, we were so happy for her. It was one of the most spiritual experiences I've ever witnessed or felt in my entire life. She will be greatly missed and always treasured. She was the most loving, strong woman I've ever met. I have so many memories to remember her by.

Isaac just turned 5 months old on the 10th. He is growing so fast. I need to post more pics of him so I can look back and watch how he's grown since it happens so quick. Right now his favorite things are: his walker, blowing bubbles, being tickled, squealing REALLY loud (he does it to get my attention, it's so funny because it's SO loud. It's not so cute when he does it every night at like 3:00 in the morning though!) and his mommy (I am his favorite, of course!!).

8 things that happened yesterday....I went to church, made some invitations for a Halloween party, ate yummy Costa Vida leftovers, fed the puppies, put my kids to bed early, watched Ryan go to bed at 8:30 for the second time this week, took some vitamin C because I felt like I was getting sick, nursed Isaac 4 times through the night (I've come to the conclusion that he has his night and day feedings mixed up. He sleeps good, just wakes up every 2-3 hours to eat. I'm going to flip-flop it over the next couple of days, wish me luck!!)

Okay. Seriously. What is Ryan thinking? Every year at this time Ryan grows a big bushy beard for the hunt. He deer hunts, duck hunts, goose hunts, pheasant hunts, you name it he does it. I have arranged for us to get family pictures on Wednesday so I was excited to tell Ryan that his beard had to go. The next day Ryan walked in the door with the SICKEST mustache. It even has the handlebars! Everywhere we go together I'm sure people are wondering how much older he is than me. What do you think, father of our kids, father of me or young grandpa? He has done this about twice a year since we've been married.

Ryan's parents came to visit last weekend. They have been living in London so Ryan's mom brought the girls some gifts. They also brought us some food. They brought squash, bread, chicken, fresh fruit and a sweet potato. Gracie immediatly formed a very close bond with the sweet potato. She was talking to it, hugging and kissing it, putting it in her purse and walking around with it everywhere. The next day she kept getting it out of the fridge so she could give it more hugs and kisses. She cracks me up. If only I could get into her little head sometimes!!

Decorating pumpkins!

Haley has been asking if we could decorate pumpkins for a couple of weeks now. We ordered her costume online and she has been so excited for Halloween ever since. So today we went and picked out pumpkins with my 2 neighbors Kansas and Sheena and their 2 boys Gavin and Carter. Haley wanted shapes and Gracie wanted a witch. I think they turned out pretty cute.

Okay. I got tagged by Kansas yesterday. I have 6 insignificant things about me. I tried to think of ones that not a lot of people know about me. There is one answer that I probably shouldn't share, but what the heck, why not? Just don't judge me to harshly:)

1. I cannot dance AT ALL! But when I get in the car with my kids, I turn up the music and we all dance. I love that I can do it front of them. They are so cute to watch too. They are the 2 people on the planet that think I have good moves!

2. Every week Ryan plays cards with the boys. So that is my night I put the kids to bed early and catch up on the shows/movies that I would be too embarrassed to watch in front of him. That way I don't get made fun of!

3. Everyone knows I enjoy cooking. But when it comes to cutting up veggies I am totally OCD
about cutting them all the same size. This makes prep time quite a bit longer. It drives Ryan nuts and he always tries to take over!

4. Anytime I am indoors without my shoes on, I have to wear socks. I hate not having them on my feet. I am fine with going sockless if I have shoes on, but I hate being barefoot. If I take a pair off, then I have to put a clean pair on the next time (like if I put a clean pair on in the morning then get in the shower, I have to put a clean pair on again). It's kind of weird, I know.

5. My ideal date with my hubby would be if we went somewhere outdoors (like golfing or fishing) then out to dinner. I love pasta and mexican food. Those would be my top choices, although Ryan's would be Chinese food. But we would compromise. These dates never really happen since we have 3 kids now and it would be hard to find a babysitter all day, but that is why it would be my ideal date.

6. Okay... here goes. My little secret. To bad I didn't know then what I know now! ( I probably did know but didn't care much at the time.)
I have a constant reminder of my little wild streak I went through when I was a teenager. It is on my back. Luckily, I don't have to see it all the time. Only when I get out of the shower.

Every month for someone's birthday my friends from my ward and I go out and do something fun. We usually go out to eat. This month it was my birthday, so we went to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I am so fortunate to live in such a great place

Hooray! Isaac has been trying to reach his little feet for a couple of weeks now. He could never grab a hold of them, but today I looked over at him and he had a hold of both of them. He has been trying so hard so it is quite an accomplishment!

Ryan and I went on a date Saturday night. Ashley & Tyson babysat for us. When we got back, Ashley was drawing pictures for Haley to color. The next morning, Haley was drawing the same picture. I thought she did a good job duplicating it. She loves coloring, drawing, cutting things out and making things. She's always drawing me pretty pictures.

Preschool

Today was Haley's first day of preschool. This is her second year and she loves it so much. She is excited to go three days this year instead of two. I don't know how I am going to handle kindergarten next year. I am dreading it. I know it will be okay and she is going to love it, but I am scared to let her go and to trust everyone else to take care of her. She is growing up way too fast!

Our dog Rally just had her baby puppies Saturday afternoon. She had THIRTEEN puppies! The third one was stillborn:-( They are all black labs. (Rally is a chocolate lab and we bred her with a white/yellow lab.) They are so cute. Haley & Gracie are lovin' every minute of it.

Today I was reading the last Twilight book while Isaac was sleeping. Haley & Gracie were playing in the other room. They were playing house and they were getting along so good. I finally got up to get them to a snack, but they already found one themselves. This picture is two boxes of mac and cheese. They were eating it uncooked with the cheese powder on top. I had to walk out of the room so they wouldn't see me laugh. They also dumped out a box of crackers on my couch. I guess I should read my book when they are in bed...

Last weekend we went to the Pierce family reunion. It was really hot, but we all had a great time. Then on Sunday we had Isaac's baby blessing along with Ryan's sister Christy's baby Grant. It was so good seeing all of Ryan's family. They are all amazing and I am so blessed to have them as family.

Over the weekend my sister-in-law Lyndsey, her husband Joey and their kids stayed at our house. She has two adorable little girls Lucy and Olive. My girls love playing with Lucy. I wish we could see them more.

For the 4th of July most of mine and Ryan's family had their own plans. We didn't let that stop us from having fun. We decided that we would take the kids camping up to Bear Lake on Ryan's parents property. It borders the river and has a private beach that a few others share. My brother in laws girlfriend Megan went with us Friday. She left that same night but we were joined by his two cousins Jake & Seth on Saturday. The kid's had a blast. They both love the water so much. On Sunday we met up with my dad's side of the family at a cabin for a family reunion. We got to see our cousins that we hardly ever see. On Monday we played at the beach all day. Although we had so much fun, we were definetly ready to go back home.

I'm finally updating my blog. I don't really have anything to blog about but I do have alot of family that doesn't get to see us very often, so here are new pictures of Isaac and the girls.

There hasn't been a single person that has said he doesn't look like his daddy. I agree.

His favorite place to fall asleep.... His swing.

Isaac is 7 weeks old right now. I can't believe it. He started smiling and cooing about 2 or 3 weeks ago. He is such a great baby. He hasn't kept me up a single night since he was born. He does wake up every 2-3 hrs. to eat, but goes right back to sleep. I will try to get more pictures of him with the family. The only time I snap a picture is when he's laying down.

They love coloring and finger painting. Most of the time they color on themselves and not on paper.

Waffles and marshmallows are their favorite things to eat. They love putting whipped cream on top of the waffles but it's only a luxury they get once in a while.
These are our new cats Trixie and Abby. They are getting a drink of water.
Our unfinished flower bed in our front yard is their favorite place to dig in the dirt.

They have an obsession with the hose. They love watering the lawn, spraying our dog, and trying to hook up the sprinkler. They haven't figured it out that they need to turn the water off first.

When I can't go outside with them, they like riding their bikes in the garage and on the patio.

This was taken yesterday at 7:45 in the morning. What this picture doesn't show is me. I was sitting in front of the pillow on the left, and I was wiping Isaac's bum when he decided to spray poop all over me and the wall. He got me right in the face and my left arm. It was a lot of poo!! I never knew how forceful it can come out, it's amazing.
